The cycle GESTRÜPP (Crub) represents a recurring motif in the artist’s work – a theme that has been revisited over time and further developed in various media – canvas, paper, cardboard – as well as in numerous formal variations.
At the origin of these works lies a kind of “calligraphy of coincidence.” From an initially chaotic structure – an accidental mesh of color flows, pigment dispersions, and overlapping collage elements – an image gradually begins to take shape in the course of the painterly process, as the artist’s interventions increasingly give it form.
